5:00 am Pick uptime from your hotel. Then travelling to the South Valley.
7:30 am Buffet breakfast in a restaurant in the village of Colca
9:00 am Start of the hike
11:30 am Arrive at the rainbow mountain
12:00 pm Hike to Red Valley
13:00 pm Hike back down to our transportation and have lunch
16:00 arrive in Pacchanta and camp for the night

8 am begin our hike and see all 7 lakes

14:00 drive back to Cusco
17:00 arrive to Cusco and drop-off at your hotel
We recommend a good physical condition AND adequate acclimatization for this trek (minimum of 2 days in Cusco or at a similar altitude). Our guides will take a standard first aid kit and oxygen tank for emergencies.Â
*We recommend hiking boots or comfortable footwear as we will be walking along high-altitude mountain trails.
* Small day pack for your camera, sunhat, beany, sunblock and water, waterbottles (reusable, not disposable), personal medical kit, extra money for souvenirs, drinks, tips, toilet paper
* Like all high mountain hiking we recommend a windbreaker and waterproof clothing as well as a dry t shirt to change into for the journey back to Cusco. We also recommend that you take your preferred snacks for extra energy on the hike.

This amazing Rainbow Mountain Trek Adventure begins with pick up from your hotel at 5am. We set out to drive for 3 hours through the South Valley, on our way to the trailhead at Llacto (4,638m / 15,216 ft). See the amazing views of Inca terraces, traditional villages, valleys and high Andean peaks.
Enjoy a delicious and hearty breakfast surrounded by alpacas, then get back in the van for the last 5 minute drive to the trailhead. We start on our hike following a lovely stream, with views of the Ausangate Mountain and glaciers.
After hiking up for about 1.5 hours, we finally reach our destination:Â Rainbow Mountain! (5,020m /16,466ft). After admiring the unique beauty of this colorful landscape, you will have time to explore the area, take pictures or just soak up the view.Â
Afterwards, we hike across to the top of the Red Valley which takes about 45 minutes longer to get back to the trailhead.
At this point, we hike back down the way we came. The hike takes 1 hour, then we enjoy our hearty lunch which will be prepared by our chef while you are hiking.
We will embark on the 2-hour drive on the way to Pacchanta where we will camp right next to the hot springs.
**** There is an option to rent a horse from local people right at the starting point of the trek
On the second day, after having a delicious breakfast with amazing views of snow-capped mountains, we will start our hike.Â
Hike for about one and a half hours gently uphill to get to the first lake. Upon arrival, you can take all the time you want soaking in the amazing 360-degree views of the surrounding lands and explore the lakes, truly a magical place.
From here, we are really close to the other six lakes and it will get easier as it is mostly downhill or flat. We will have plenty of time to take photos of the lakes and glaciers. Then enjoy lunch before departing back to Cusco (3 hours). Arrival time back in Cusco is around 5pm and we will drop you off at your hotel.
